{"id":35120,"date":"2026-09-03T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iberseriesplatinoindustria.com\/siete-guionistas-presentan-sus-proyectos-de-series-en-iberseries-platino-industria-de-la-mano-de-fundacion-sgae\/"},"modified":"2026-09-02T17:06:02","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T15:06:02","slug":"siete-guionistas-presentan-sus-proyectos-de-series-en-iberseries-platino-industria-de-la-mano-de-fundacion-sgae","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iberseriesplatinoindustria.com\/en\/siete-guionistas-presentan-sus-proyectos-de-series-en-iberseries-platino-industria-de-la-mano-de-fundacion-sgae\/","title":{"rendered":"Seven screenwriters present their series projects at Iberseries &amp; Platino Industria with Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The pitch will take place on October 1 at Matadero Madrid and will bring creators together with producers, buyers and other audiovisual industry professionals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Virginia Burgos, Miguel Cavadas, Alberto Grondona, \u00c1ngel Mirou, Roberto Osa, Pedro Pablo Picazo and Juan S\u00e1nchez present their projects after taking part in Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE\u2019s 13th Television Series Creation Lab<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iberseries &amp; Platino Industria, the major international gathering for the Ibero-American audiovisual industry, will host on Thursday, <strong>October 1<\/strong> the presentation of <strong>six series projects<\/strong> developed by <strong>seven screenwriters<\/strong> as part of its collaboration with <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>professional pitch<\/strong> will take place as part of the programme of the sixth edition of Iberseries &amp; Platino Industria, which runs from <strong>September 29 to October 2, 2026<\/strong> at <strong>Matadero Madrid.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The projects to be presented to <strong>producers, buyers, investors and other audiovisual industry professionals<\/strong> are: <em>La librera<\/em>, by <strong>Virginia Burgos and Juan S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>; <em>Avi\u00f3n<\/em>, by <strong>Miguel Cavadas<\/strong>; <em>El capricho<\/em>, by <strong>Alberto Grondona<\/strong>; <em>Tel\u00e9fonos fijos<\/em>, by <strong>\u00c1ngel Mirou<\/strong>; <em>La edad menor<\/em>, by <strong>Roberto Osa<\/strong>; and <em>Trueque<\/em>, by <strong>Pedro Pablo Picazo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seven screenwriters come to Iberseries &amp; Platino Industria after taking part in <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE\u2019s 13th Television Series Creation Lab 2026<\/strong>, held during the first half of the year under the direction of screenwriter <strong>Carmen Llano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A space connecting talent and industry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE<\/strong>\u2019s participation in <strong>Iberseries &amp; Platino Industria<\/strong> offers these creators a <strong>professional space<\/strong> in which to give visibility to their projects and establish contact with potential partners, producers, investors and content executives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pitch is conceived as an opportunity to foster the <strong>production, financing and international reach<\/strong> of new fiction projects, while reinforcing one of the objectives of Iberseries &amp; Platino Industria: to facilitate connections between creative talent and the different players in the Ibero-American audiovisual industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This collaboration also helps showcase the work carried out through Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE\u2019s training and creation programmes and bring new series projects to an international market specialising in <strong>audiovisual content, financing, production and distribution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About the selected participants<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>La librera&nbsp;<\/em>by Virginia Burgos and Juan S\u00e1nchez<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the early 1990s, a woman opens the first LGBT bookstore in our country. Over several decades, the business becomes a refuge and a political backroom for an entire community. But the day comes when the neighbourhood she helped build turns its back on her, leaving her no choice but to ask herself: \u201cWhat do you do when nobody needs you anymore?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Virginia Burgos&nbsp;<\/strong>(Seville, 1986) holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Seville, a degree in Acting from ESAD Seville and a degree in Playwriting and Stage Direction from RESAD. She has written and directed award-winning short films that have premiered at festivals, including&nbsp;<em>Siete formas de decir adi\u00f3s<\/em>, winner of the Carmen Award for Best Fiction Short Film, as well as projects recognised by initiatives such as Cambio de Plano. She combines her work as an audiovisual creator with her work as a psychologist and lecturer on the Screenwriting Master\u2019s programme at TAI School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Juan S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>&nbsp;(Madrid, 1996) holds a degree in Playwriting and Stage Direction from RESAD and is currently studying for the Master\u2019s in Fiction Series Screenwriting at ECAM. He has developed series projects selected for DAMA Ayuda, Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE\u2019s Series Creation Lab, IsLABentura Canarias, the Ibero-American Audiovisual Project Development Course and Cambio de Plano. He was also a playwright at Fundaci\u00f3n Antonio Gala\u2019s Young Creators Residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Avi\u00f3n&nbsp;<\/em>by Miguel Cavadas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Avi\u00f3n is the village that embodies the utopia of Galician emigration: leaving poor and returning rich. In winter, it is yet another example of rural precarity and ageing. In summer, it becomes a festival of money, ranchera music and Mexican flags. Its population quadruples, returning to celebrate, enjoy themselves and show off the transatlantic feat. A microcosm that is neither here nor there, but the coexistence of two worlds that have little or nothing to do with one another: community and individualism, past and present, Galicia\u2019s lowest pensions and Mexico\u2019s greatest fortunes. What happens when those two worlds collide?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Miguel Cavadas<\/strong>&nbsp;(Vigo, 1996) is a screenwriter, poet and theatre creator. He studied Philology in Santiago de Compostela before moving to the United States on a La Caixa scholarship to pursue an MFA in Screenwriting. There, he joined the writers\u2019 room at Mexican-American production company Elefantec Global. He currently combines literary creation with his career as a freelance screenwriter. His scripts have been selected for labs such as the Paramount Writers Mentoring Program, NALIP\u2019s Emerging Creators Scholarship and AGAPI Impulsa Copros; and his literary work has won competitions including the Mazarelos, D\u00edaz J\u00e1come and Eusebio Lorenzo Baleir\u00f3n awards. He has just published the poetry collection&nbsp;<em>Himno Nacional<\/em>&nbsp;(Chan da P\u00f3lvora, 2025), and a series for HBO LATAM is currently in development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>El capricho&nbsp;<\/em>by Alberto Grondona<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>El capricho<\/em>&nbsp;is a satirical historical comedy about three women vying for power at the 18th-century Spanish court: Queen Mar\u00eda Luisa of Parma, the charismatic Duchess of Alba and the enlightened Duchess of Osuna. Their battles for influence, image and desire, in a Spain on the brink of collapse, are observed and narrated with fierce irony by Francisco de Goya, an uneasy witness who turns palace intrigue into a surprisingly contemporary mirror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Alberto Grondona<\/strong>&nbsp;(La Laguna, 1973) is a screenwriter and script coordinator with more than 25 years of experience. He has worked on highly successful series such as&nbsp;<em>El tiempo entre costuras<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Hospital Central<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Las chicas del cable<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>SKAM<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>La Promesa<\/em>, winner of an International Emmy Award in 2024, among others. He specialises in narrative design, the creation of fictional worlds and combining creativity with professional rigour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Tel\u00e9fonos fijos&nbsp;<\/em>by \u00c1ngel Mirou<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the modest Recalde neighbourhood of Bilbao, landline phones ring in the early hours, waking those who still have them installed in their homes. When they pick up, residents hear the voices of relatives, friends or acquaintances. The callers have only one thing in common: they are dead. Whether the calls are proof that something exists after death or an elaborate fraud based on cutting-edge technology, the lives of those involved will never be the same again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u00c1ngel Mirou&nbsp;<\/strong>(A Coru\u00f1a, 1970) is a screenwriter with more than twenty years of experience writing for theatre, film, television and comics. A graduate in Journalism and Fine Arts, he has taken part in screenwriting labs such as the Mediterranean Film Institute (Greece), the Berlinale Talent Campus and ScriptLab (Colombia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>La edad menor&nbsp;<\/em>by Roberto Osa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a dystopian Madrid where children become the legal guardians of their parents, Mar\u00eda confronts the system when her mother is admitted to La edad menor, an irreversible process of infantilisation. While her brother is torn between his sister and power, a devastating secret will reveal that neither resistance nor sacrifice is enough to stop oblivion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Roberto Osa<\/strong>&nbsp;(Cuenca, 1981) is a screenwriter, novelist and director. He has published the novels&nbsp;<em>Morder\u00e1s el polvo<\/em>&nbsp;(winner of the Felipe Trigo Award and finalist for the Nadal Prize) and&nbsp;<em>Fallo del sistema<\/em>. As a playwright, he won the City of M\u00e1laga Theatre Award with&nbsp;<em>Correspondencia<\/em>. He also has extensive experience as an audiovisual director and television screenwriter. He also produced, wrote and directed the European transmedia project&nbsp;<em>Trece d\u00edas en nuestra nevera<\/em>, available in five languages. His works have been translated into English, Italian, Romanian, Dutch and Portuguese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Trueque&nbsp;<\/em>by Pedro Pablo Picazo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three families who are very close friends struggle daily with the teenagers at home. Each family has solutions for the others\u2019 children. What if they swap them? What could possibly go wrong?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pedro Pablo Picazo&nbsp;<\/strong>(Seville, 1974) is a screenwriter, writer and playwright. A graduate of ECAM, he has written series, programmes and documentaries, as well as teaching audiovisual writing.
