Elly’s responsibility is to set up international co-productions and represent VRT as a strong drama partner internationally. Elly is currently Chair of EBU’s Fiction Experts Group. Until June, she was the Chair of New8, the drama collaboration between eight European Public Broadcasters. VRT is the public broadcaster of the Flemish Community in Belgium. It is a media organization oriented towards all Flemish citizens, with a special focus on the diversity and uniqueness of the Flemish audience. VRT presents high-quality and distinctive content in the areas of information, culture, education, entertainment and sports. VRT reaches 90% of all Flemish people, every single week. Consequently, VRT can be seen as a relevant player that has a major societal impact and can contribute to a pluralistic debate, thus strenghtening democracy.

Michele Zatta starts his career in Rai as co-Headwriter of Italy’s first soap «Un posto al sole». In 2008 he is hired as commissioning editor and Head of international coproductions. He has developed and produced «The name of the rose», «The red doo»r, «The hunter», «The sea beyond», RaiPlay’s biggest success ever Rai Fiction has been building up its portfolio of major international co-productions over the last years. Among the others large-scale projects are the Medici saga, My Brilliant Friend, based on the worldwide literary phenomenon of Elena Ferrante’s novels series; The Name of the Rose, TV adaptation of Umberto Eco’s best seller. Since 2018, Rai Fiction is part of the European Alliance together with France Télévisions (France) and ZDF (Germany) aimed to produce quality TV series that can represent an European alternative to the new streaming players.
