The Málaga Film Festival was founded 30 years ago with the aim of supporting Spanish cinema. As this mission evolved, the Festival expanded a few years later to embrace the wider community of creators from across Ibero-America, becoming a major public and media event dedicated to promoting Spanish-language cinema.
At the same time, we developed MAFIZ, a major industry platform designed to engage with the entire audiovisual value chain, fostering business opportunities and industry growth.
In 2027, we will therefore celebrate everything that has been achieved over these three decades while also looking ahead, exploring how the Festival can continue to serve the industry in the future and reflecting on the evolving role of film festivals as a whole.
