Rodolfo Montero de Palacio is a Spanish director, screenwriter, and producer. Born in San Martín de Elines (Cantabria), he was introduced to the film industry by his mentor and compatriot Mario Camus, who produced what is currently his latest film, *El prado de las estrellas* (The Meadow of the Stars).
With his production companies, Cre Acción Films and Palamont Pictures SL, he has made around twenty feature films and just as many short films and documentaries, including: *El prado de las estrellas*, *Tudancos*, *Luna caliente* (Hot Moon), *Las tierras altas* (The Highlands), *Siempre días azules* (Always Blue Days), *Caminos cruzados* (Crossed Paths), *Diario de una becaria* (Diary of an Intern), *El efecto Iguazú* (The Iguazu Effect) (Goya Award for Best Documentary Film, 2003), *Bestiario* (Bestiary), *El deseo de ser pielroja* (The Desire to Be a Redskin), *Báilame el agua* (Dance Me the Water), *Código natural* (Natural Code), *El invierno de las Anjanas* (The Winter of the Anjanas), and *Un buen novio* (A Good Boyfriend), among others.
He has produced films for veteran directors (Mario Camus, Vicente Aranda, and Alfonso Ungría) as well as for emerging filmmakers. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including two Goya Awards: one for Producer and one for Director. He has also received the EGEDA José María Forqué Award, the Golden Eagle Award, the Pearl of San Sebastián Award, and the Rural Tourism Award of Cantabria.
His most recent works as Director and Producer include *Gigantes de la 2*, a documentary series, and *Lope enamorado*, a fiction film for Spanish Television (TVE). He contributes to several local publications in Cantabria and is President of the Agro y Cultura Foundation. He is an Advisory Consultant for the EGEDA management entity and a member of the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, as well as a member of the Spanish Television Academy.
Currently, his production company, Palamont Pictures, SL, is involved in the development of Rural TV and Agrocultura TV, as well as various film and television projects, including the feature film *La divina comedia*.
