RTVE’s team will present a preview of Rojo sobre Blanco and Rocío at Iberscreenings, two of its new major prime-time stories, and will take part in a panel on international co-production

On Wednesday, September 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Sala Azcona (Cineteca) will host the Iberscreening Coming Soon: RTVE’s Two New Major Stories: Rojo sobre Blanco & Rocío, where RTVE will present a preview of two of its new fiction offerings for prime time.
With these productions, RTVE presents two distinctive stories and universes aimed at connecting with new audiences. The session will feature José Pastor, RTVE’s Director of Film and Fiction, and will be moderated by Alberto Rey, a freelance contributor to El Mundo.
The first part of the session, dedicated to Rojo sobre Blanco, will feature actress Irene Arcos; creator, showrunner and Good Mood fiction producer Daniel Écija; and actress María Hervás.
Rojo sobre Blanco is a crime fiction series produced by RTVE and Good Mood Productions, with a first season of eight 60-minute episodes. Directed by Jesús Rodrigo, María Pulido and David Molina Encinas, with Daniel Écija leading production, the series stars Hugo Silva, María Hervás, Irene Arcos, Pablo Derqui, Manu Baqueiro and Francis Lorenzo.
The series follows Daniela, a waitress with a talent for forensic linguistics, who joins Inspector Mario to solve complex kidnappings and crimes in Madrid. As they work together analyzing the language of criminals, an intense attraction develops between them that will completely destabilize their lives.
Next will be Rocío, featuring actresses Susana Córdoba and Carmen Raigon, Humberto Miró, Director of Boomerang TV, and Luis Santamaría, Director of Boomerang TV Fiction.
Rocío is a four-episode, 70-minute fiction miniseries that tells, in biopic format, the life of one of the most important artists in Spanish culture. Produced by RTVE and Boomerang TV, it is directed by Humberto Miró, with Aurora Guerra leading the writing team. Carmen Raigon, Susana Córdoba and Martiño Rivas are part of its cast.
Rocío is a biographical production about one of the most important artists in Spanish culture. From her childhood in Chipiona to her worldwide success, the series portrays with emotion and respect the rise of a free-spirited woman who changed her era.
Space at Plaza Matadero
RTVE will also be present at Iberseries & Platino Industria with a pavilion located at Plaza Matadero, as an extension of the MAI (International Audiovisual Market). The space will be staffed by executives from RTVE’s International Commercial area, who will present and promote the commercial exploitation of its content and channels.
The MAI serves as a meeting, convergence and networking point for companies, professionals and institutions in the audiovisual sector. It is also linked to the Iberscreenings section, with the aim of promoting the buying and selling of completed productions, the presentation of new content and the premiere of audiovisual works produced and distributed in Spanish and Portuguese for global audiences.
