The collaboration will continue with a new edition of Series Match, an initiative that in 2026 brought together ten production companies from Germany and Ibero-America for the first time to foster the development and international co-production of series.
Iberseries & Platino Industria and Berlinale Series Market have renewed their collaboration agreement for the fourth consecutive year, consolidating a strategic alliance aimed at strengthening the international presence of Spanish- and Portuguese-language audiovisual content and creating new co-production opportunities between Europe and Ibero-America.
The collaboration continued to grow in 2026 with the first edition of Series Match: Germany & Ibero-America, a joint initiative designed to connect production companies from both regions with series projects in the early stages of development and facilitate new creative, industry and financial partnerships.
The event took place on February 16, 2026, as part of Berlinale Series Market, at the Studio Babelsberg Lounge at CinemaxX, and brought together ten companies, five German and five Ibero-American, each with a series project in development.
An alliance expanding its international reach
The cooperation between Iberseries & Platino Industria and Berlinale Series Market connects two strategic platforms for the international audiovisual industry and fosters exchange among producers, creators, platforms, distributors and other industry players.
Throughout its successive editions, the collaboration has promoted activities related to professional networking, the international promotion of content, co-productions, sales and pre-sales, and the analysis of new trends and business models.

In 2026, this strategy was expanded with Series Match, specifically designed to foster connections between German and Ibero-American companies from the earliest stages of project development.
Berlinale Series Market, part of the European Film Market, once again brought together international professionals specialising in series content in Berlin this year. In 2027, Berlinale Series Market will take place from February 14 to 16.
The international collaboration between Iberseries & Platino and Berlinale Series Market will be extended with the addition of TV Drama Vision, the series platform of the Göteborg Film Festival, as a new partner in the initiative.
A regular collaborator of Berlinale Series Market, TV Drama Vision will help strengthen the reach of Series Match by bringing in projects and production companies from the Nordic countries and fostering new opportunities for networking, co-development and co-production among the audiovisual industries of Germany, Ibero-America and the Nordic countries.
Series Match: a new bridge between Germany and Ibero-America
The first edition of Series Match: Germany & Ibero-America brought together production companies from Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Spain and Germany, with the aim of fostering the development of projects with potential for international collaboration.
The selected Ibero-American companies were Boutique Filmes and Movioca, from Brazil; Alterna Media, from Uruguay; Villano, from Chile; and Funicular Films, from Spain. On the German side, the participating companies were Zeitsprung Pictures, UFA Fiction, SKP Entertainment, Studio Zentral and Beta Film.
The projects presented covered a range of genres and creative approaches and highlighted the potential for collaboration between the two markets. They included Seven Women, Abuse, Callback, Assassin in Paradise, Scorched Earth, Driven Hunt – The Other Truth / The Runaway, Wetlands and Monika – Victory or Death.
The event was conceived as a working space to facilitate creative exchange, co-development and co-production, as well as to explore new avenues for financing and the international circulation of series.

Series Match has enabled companies with different levels of experience, production structures and reference markets to connect, fostering the development of internationally oriented projects and strengthening ties between Germany, Spain, Portugal and Latin America.
The initiative thus opens up a new avenue for collaboration that can continue in future editions, consolidating the event as a dedicated space for identifying partners, exchanging knowledge and building projects with international reach.
A bridge between markets
The renewal of the alliance between Iberseries & Platino Industria and Berlinale Series Market strengthens a collaboration that has evolved from cooperation within the framework of the European Film Market to the creation of specific initiatives for business networking.
In this context, Series Match, whose new 2027 call for entries will open shortly, represents a new tool for bringing the German and Ibero-American industries closer together from the earliest stages of series creation and development, facilitating the identification of partners and the development of internationally oriented projects.
The continuation of this cooperation helps broaden access for Ibero-American professionals and companies to leading international markets and strengthens the positioning of Iberseries & Platino Industria as a meeting point for the development, financing, co-production and international circulation of Spanish- and Portuguese-language audiovisual content.
