The selected projects, from Argentina, Chile, Spain, Mexico, Peru and Puerto Rico, stand out for the diversity of genres, themes and formats represented, ranging from comedy and thrillers to historical drama, young adult fiction and vertical series. The participants will take part in this specialized training and mentoring programme, which has become a well-established initiative within the framework of Iberseries & Platino Industria.
The Showrunner Training Workshop, which has become one of the leading initiatives for fostering new talent and Spanish-language series projects within the Ibero-American audiovisual industry, has selected the twelve projects that will participate in its sixth edition. The Workshop will be held in person on September 29 and 30 and October 1, 2026, at Matadero Madrid, as part of Iberseries & Platino Industria.
The Showrunner Workshop is sponsored by Madrid Film Office, academically coordinated by The Core School, and supported by CIMA (Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media Professionals). Its aim is to provide specialized training in the creative, executive and management responsibilities of the showrunner, a key figure in the creation and leadership of scripted television series.
In addition to the in-person sessions, the selected participants will receive two online mentoring sessions in the months leading up to the Workshop, with the aim of strengthening the creative, strategic and production development of their projects.

- Renacer (Peru, Spain) – Drama, thriller, temática transgénero y bélica/antibélica. Presented by Stephan Succar Conroy and Miguel Valle.

- Sexología humana aplicada (Spain) – Comedy and sexuality. Presented by Erika Nieto Morillas and María Magdalena Cotun Erhan.

Specialized training and industry engagement
Under the coordination of Enrique Darriba, an executive producer specializing in the development and production of television fiction, the Workshop will once again feature an outstanding group of industry professionals as tutors: Jorge Redondo, executive producer and showrunner with extensive experience in television fiction; Tatiana Rodríguez, screenwriter and creator nominated for a Goya Award for Mataharis; Miquel Peidro, script coordinator, playwright and creator of some of Spain’s most acclaimed daily television series; and Leire Albinarrate, screenwriter specializing in television fiction and the development of international projects.
The programme will also include conferences delivered by renowned audiovisual industry professionals and one-to-one meetings with executives from production companies, studios and platforms, providing participants with valuable networking opportunities, business development prospects and direct access to the international market.
With this new edition, the Showrunner Training Workshop reaffirms its commitment to the professional development of series creators and to strengthening the Ibero-American audiovisual industry by supporting emerging projects and fostering connections between talent, training and the marketplace at one of the industry’s leading international events.
The sixth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria will take place from September 29 to October 2, 2026, at Matadero Madrid, organized by EGEDA and Fundación Secuoya, in collaboration with FIPCA. The event is supported by Madrid Film Office and Madrid Film Region, among other partner organizations.
